Partial and Full Scholarships are available.

Scholarships are awarded to students from various backgrounds, life paths, and situations. Please read more about qualifying below.

Scholarship recipients will receive between 5 and 10 hours of coaching either completely free or at a discounted rate based on individual applications.

A Commitment to Equity in Higher Education

First Generation

A first generation student has no parent who completed a four-year college degree. If a parent went to some college but did not finish, went to college but is not the parent with whom the student was raised, or is a step parent, the student is still a first generation student.

As a first generation student, I understand that the challenges of undergraduate and graduate programs can be quite different. If your parents earned a bachelors, but you are applying to Masters or Doctoral programs and no parent holds such a degree, I also qualify you as first generation.

Non-Traditional

"Non-traditional" students refers to students who do not immediately enroll in higher education after completing high school.

These individuals may have had a career and be returning to school, may have taken time off to have a family, or taken time off for some other reason. For this application, students should have been away from higher education programs for at least 5 years.

Single Parents

Raising a child as a single parent is one of the most challenging pathways in contemporary life.

Any single parent who juggles work, childcare, and going back to school qualifies for this type of scholarship.

Single parents may be mothers or fathers but must be the primary caretakers of at least one dependant under the age of 18 years.

Low-Income

Students who qualify for one of the following programs may apply for a schlarship:

Pell Grant eligible
Free or reduced price lunch
SAT/ACT fee waivers
SNAP or other food assistance programs

Housing Insecurity

Students who qualify for one of the following programs may apply for a scholarship:

Students aging out of the foster care system
Students whose families qualify for Section 8
Students who are experiencing homelessness
Students whose families are experiencing homelessness

Scholarship applicants must also:

Have a minimum of 3.0 high school or undergraduate GPA.
Have not earned a bachelor's, graduate, or professional degree.
Be actively applying to undergraduate or graduate programs.
Be ready to work!

Dr. Johnston's mom completed just one year of college before becoming overwhelmed and dropping out. Her dad pursued a technical career and worked for a government agency. Applying to college was terrifying. She is committed to helping students who need additional guidance.
